Get Out the Vote Mini-grants
Wednesday, 20 August 2008
The San Francisco Foundation believes it is critical to increase the vote and voice of communities traditionally underrepresented in elections: communities of color, youth, new citizens, and low-income residents. The Get Out The Vote Mini-grants Program is available to grassroots organizations working in the counties of San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo, Contra Costa, and Marin, for the support of non-partisan voter registration, voter education, and voter mobilization efforts. These organizations may apply for mini-grants ranging from $500 to $7500. Priority will be given to projects that utilize proven practices, result in successful outcomes, and are the most cost effective. Applicants who are proposing to focus on youth voter mobilization are particularly encouraged to apply. All successful applicants must be able to report specific and measurable outcomes. Please complete the online application at granteecenter.sff.org. Applications must be submitted by August 29, 2008. The grant period will be from August 1, 2008, to November 30, 2008. Funding cannot be provided retroactively or for project work that occurs outside the grant period. Notification of awards will be by September 5, 2008. Final reports will be due by December 31, 2008.
