Our information & resources services provide access to a wealth of information about local and national resources on nonprofit management, board governance, training, funding research, professional development, and nonprofit consulting. Information can be accessed through our website, by phone or via email.

•  Through our website, The CBO Center provides a wealth of information about local and national resources on nonprofit management, board governance, training, funding research and professional development. Our online board resources include sample documents and templates, links to articles and websites, and suggested reading. Our website also features a job board with announcements about local nonprofit job openings.

•  We are available by phone and email free of charge for advice, and for referrals to highly qualified nonprofit consultants and service providers.

•  We provide free evening and week-end meeting space for nonprofit boards and group meetings of 12 or fewer at our downtown Oakland office.

 


The CBO Center's Resource Center is located at 359 Frank Ogawa Plaza, a half a block from the 12th Street BART station.

 
Directions

Public Transportation: Civic Center Plaza is serviced by all AC Transit lines and by BART. The BART station servicing Civic Center Plaza is 12th Street /City Center. Look for the exit onto Frank H. Ogawa Plaza . Once on the plaza, walk directly ahead toward the large metal sculpture.  The CBO Center is a storefront to the left of that sculpture.

Parking: There are four parking structures that service the Civic Center Plaza . The closest parking is beneath the Dalziel Building close to the De Domenico Building. The entrance to this garage is on 16th Street between Clay and Telegraph. From the parking garage, take the elevator to the ground level.  Walk out of the building and turn left.  Follow the path/corridor to the Plaza.  Turn left once you've emerged from the walkway and you're on the Plaza.  Our storefront will be on your left, just past the Irvine Conference Center of the East Bay Community Foundation. Parking is also available in the City Center Garage, which is located beneath City Center , accessed via entrances on 14th Street between 1300 Clay Street and 505 14th Street buildings, or via 11th Street just past Clay Street . There is also a parking structure located on Clay between 14th Street and 16th Street . Finally, there is a large parking structure, City Center Garage West, which is located on the corner of 12th Street and Jefferson Street, and accessed via entrances on 12th Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Way (across from Preservation Park).

Driving From Eastern Contra Costa County: Take Highway 24 west through the Caldecott Tunnel. Take the Highway 980/Downtown Oakland exit. Take the 18th Street exit towards 14th Street . Stay straight to go onto Brush St. Turn left onto 17th Street. Turn right onto Clay Street.

Driving From Richmond and Marin County: Take Highway 580 to Interstate 80 West. At the San Francisco /Oakland Interchange, take Highway 580 East. Take the Highway 980/Downtown Oakland exit. Take the 18th Street exit towards 14th Street . Stay straight to go onto Brush St. Turn left onto 17th Street . Turn right onto Clay Street.

Driving From Pleasanton/Livermore: Take Highway 580 to Oakland . Take the Highway 980/Downtown Oakland exit. Take the 18th Street exit towards 14th Street. Stay straight to go onto Brush St. Turn left onto 17th Street. Turn right onto Clay Street.

Driving From the San Francisco/Bay Bridge: Take the Highway 580 exit. Take the Highway 980/Downtown Oakland exit. Take the 18th Street exit towards 14th Street . Stay straight to go onto Brush St. Turn left onto 17th Street. Turn right onto Clay Street.


Driving From the Oakland Airport: Take 880 North to the Broadway exit in Downtown Oakland. Make a right at the first light onto Broadway. Make a left onto 8th Street . Make a right onto Clay Street. Make a right on 16th Street .
