This workshop is geared towards people who are new to supervision and those who seek to renew their vision with a model that promotes effective communication, feedback, and goal setting. Topics include: basic responsibilities of a supervisor, motivation theories, effective goal setting, and giving constructive and supportive feedback. This workshop is also relevant for those who supervise volunteers.

Marla Cornelius, MNA, is a Project Director at CompassPoint Nonprofit Services. She is responsible for the creation and management of several research, leadership development and governance projects for nonprofit managers and leaders. She co-authored the national research report Ready to Lead? Next Generation Leaders Speak Out, and led the development of CompassPoint's intensive training program for emerging nonprofit managers. Additionally, she develops curricula, trains and consults in the areas of staff management, personal development, performance metrics, and governance/boards of directors. Marla has a Masters degree in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco.
