So… you’re not a professional facilitator, but you are in the position of running a meeting (e.g. board chair, team leader for staff or volunteers, trainer, etc.). How can you effectively manage your group’s time and agenda? What tools do you need to keep wayward souls engaged and on track?

Or… You are a member of a group and would like to be sure that you are contributing in a helpful way to the purpose and effectiveness of the group and meeting.

Whether leading from the front or side of the room, you can use effective self-management and group facilitation skills that will make your group’s meeting run more smoothly, meet the needs of the individuals involved, and get the job done!

In this three-hour course you will:

  • Learn the definition of a facilitative leader
  • Understand the roles of the group facilitator
  • Learn to be a participant/leader
  • Discover helpful and harmful roles group members can assume
  • Learn some self-management techniques
  • Discover practical tools and techniques for running a smooth meeting and managing group dynamics
  • Practice managing groups through role-play
